Is Bobby Flay 'throwing' his Throwdowns?

Comments

I don't care if he wins or loses, either--I still love him!! I love to watch him on Iron Chef; I haven't seen any throw-downs lately...
Oooh, I think he's creepy. But I guess that's a guy thing! :-)

I used to like to watch that 'Grillin' and Chillin'' or 'Chillin' and Grillin'' show that he did with Jack McDavid. I always liked Jack better - I mean talk about funny and down to earth!!

A woman I use to work with was so in love with Bobby Flay he was #1 on her top 10 list which I never heard of until she had told me about it. I think I am more of a Tyler fan!

I don't think he throws his throwdown though...I think he is truly challenging people who on top of their game for that particular dish....that is my two cents!

LOL. I guess it is. I don't even know who Jack McDavid is. That must have been before I started watching FN.
That's funny about your friend!
Grillin' and Chillin' was an early FN show. It was definitely a study in contrasts.

Jack was a good ol' boy from the mountains of Virginia who has a couple of restaurants here in Philly.

Jack wore bib overalls and a tractor cap. Bobby wore his fancy New York duds.

Jack spoke with a twang. Bobby was all New Yawk.

Jack refused to grill on anything but real charcoal. Bobby used a gas grill.

You could tell that Bobby thought Jack was an idiot, and vice versa.

Great fun!

Here's my man Jack. Picture him up against Bobby.....

Sounds like a cool show, kind of an odd couple thing. What happened to Jack?
I don't know what Jack is up to these days. He's definitely not on TV any more. I guess he's just doing his restaurant thing. The last time I saw him was a couple of years ago. We were having breakfast at the Down Home Diner in the Reading Terminal Market in downtown Philly, one of the restaurants that he owns. He was back in the back working the grill. I asked the waitress, "Is that Jack?" She nodded and just rolled her eyes.....

But actually, reading up on him, he's quite an interesting fellow

We've wondered the same thing!! Did you see the one with Paula Dean?!?!? That was really awesome -- and I'm not even that much of a PD fan. And yes, I have a total man-crush on Bobby Flay. There, I said it.
I did see the PD Throwdown. It was chicken fried steak I believe and I believe that Paula won. I wasn't surprised though since she specializes in artery-clogging comfort foods.
