What is your "role" in your family?
I am the rock, the confident, the role model, the answer guy....and on and on
What's the best beauty advice you've ever received?
My mother was a cosmotologist for 30 years, so I recieved TONS of advice...lol. But the best that she gave me was to stay out of the sun. She told me this back in the 70's waaaaaaay before the sun was actually the issue it is today. I love the way I look with a suntan but everytime you get a suntan you pay for it later in a bad way. So, during the summer, I get a moisturizer with color and use that. Plus, in Bama, it's just waaaaaaaaaay too damn hot to lay out in the sun if you don't have a pool next to you. And I HATE the way women look with those fake suntans. Do these women not have mirrors? It looks ORANGE....lol. Well, thats all I got to say about that.
What was the last thing that made you smile?
Submitted by Becca-Pink.
I would say just about everything my little boy does makes me smile most of the time. I have strep throat right now and so do all of my kids, so I'm not actually in a smiley mood. But, all of the funny little things that he says just tickles me. When he tells me he wants "basketti" for supper, that makes me laugh. He wants hugs all the time...ALL THE TIME...lol. So I'm definitely enjoying that while it lasts. He makes me smile when he says, "I love you, mommy and Can I....etc." in the same breath. He's just such a funny little guy and I am so glad God sent him to me.
What are your irrational fears?
Submitted by Dan Culhane.
Probably my most irrational fears are....
I have a terrible fear of trains. Everytime I sit in front of one going by, I am terrified that it's going to come off the tracks and hit me. I stop at every train crossing and come to a complete stop and look VERY carefully before I cross. I am so scared that one is going to come out of the blue and hit me.
I am scared that someday I'm either going to get a call that something has happened to my husband or that I'm going to come home and find him dead. Isn't that morbid?
That's really about it. Guess I'm not too bad if I could only think of two.
Audio: What's your favorite carol or holiday song?
I don't know the name of the song...but I love the one that David Bowie does with Bing Crosby. The mix of the two very different men and thier styles just mesh on that song. Plus, I love the video of it too. The other one that I love is the original Little Drummer Boy.
And even though it's not being asked...the song I hate the WORST is I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. I am so damned sick of that song. It was cute the first couple of times...but now I turn it off every time I hear it, unless the kids are around cause they loooooooooooooooove it....lol.
Oh and another thing....I can't stand Mariah Carey..but I love her Christmas album and her version of O Holy Night. But you never hear it hardly ever. She was so much better in the beginning when she was being guided into a more bluesy sound. Ever since she went so hip hop and poppy and over-singing every song, I can't bear to listen to her. You should have stuck with your record-producing husband, Tommywhoever? Why is it now that good vocalists think that they have to sing on every part of the songs? What the hell happened to a guitar solo with no singer having to chime in? And who gives a chit whether you can do a run or not on a vocal? It seems nowadays that all singers feel they have to do these vocal runs in songs. This is why I hate todays pop music and am stuck on older stuff.
Please, excuse me for going off but I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
If you had a time machine, which year would you travel to and why?
Submitted by Michelle.
God, that's a tough question. There is alot in my life that I would like to be able to go back and change or go back and revisit. So, I guess I won't even tread on that path, although, I do have to say that the first thing that entered my mind was 1992, when my oldest brother committed suicide. I miss him all the time and I wish so much that I could have done something to help him. Anyway, that's not possible. The other thing that I thought about was going back sometime in the 70's and just getting to relive some of the fun I had. Not the drugs and drinking part, but the innocence of the suburban life and school and just have some of the knowledge that I have now...lol....cause I was a MAJOR idiot when I was young and a goofball!
I guess if I had to choose a time or a year to go back to, I think I would go visit the late 40's and 50's. World War II was over and it was an innocent and rich time. I love the clothes that the women wore and I love the idea of being able to stay at home and raise kids, instead of the way I have to work now. It was just so much more relaxed and there wasn't this big push to be the best and have the best. Neighbors visited each other, families stuck together, and people seemed more interested in fighting for what was right. Divorce wasn't the norm and wasn't so readily accepted. Women didn't just run off and have an abortion every time they got inconveniently pregnant. That was a subject that wasn't taken lightly. I can't really pick an exact year because I would rather pick a time and a feeling and a different attitude.
Oh wait! I do have one year I'd love to go back to 1991 and not marry my ex-husband....LMAO. That was a waste of nine years of my life that I would love to have back. I would much rather be able to trade that off for my husband of 7 years that I have now. Number one, because he is a good man and a Christian. Number two, he actually WORKS....lol.
That's it for me, folks!
What are some ways you save money?
Submitted by Pixiemom.
Well, I pretty much have piggy banks all over my house. The main one I put money in is my new ,about to be adopted, son's. I give him all my change and everyday when I give the kids money, I put part of his in his piggy bank. As soon as he is adopted, I am going to open up a college fund for him. So far, in just three weeks, I've managed to save about 75 dollars. I also try to stick money away in a separate account. I usually do pretty good...but when Aaron came, I wiped it out buying a new bed and stuff to go in his room. Thank God, I had that money or I would have had a problem....lol. Of course, I have a 401k....so at least I'll have that saved when I retire.
As far as any other ways that I save money is that I never buy meat that isn't on sale. I take advantage of all BOGO free's. I never buy clothes that aren't on the clearance rack. Hell, I hardly ever buy ANYTHING that isn't on sale. The only time I make exceptions is around this time of year. I will splurge on Christmas. That's about it for me.
What is your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table?

The stuffing and turkey with gravy.
Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?
Submitted by Paddy Melt Wagon.
It was a very, very long time ago...but I remember I had the Jackson 5's 45, ABC. I was crazy about them when I was around 5. I also had an album by them as well. I also had the Beatles, of course. I also remember having a Chipmunk album with Take Me Out to the Ballgame where Alvin breaks a window with a ball. I used to listen to that song over and over.
